ロースクールに行く前にそれを思いついていれば大きな時間とお金の節約になったのに…。その女性は”人生の中でしたいこと”の円と”自分が得意なこと”の円を見事に組み合わせて他の円には中指を立てたんだろうね。

本当に羨ましいよ

I saw an article where a woman was making a living basically taking naps with people. Like a snuggle prostitute. I could have saved so much time, money and energy if I had thought of that before going to law school. She really merged the "things I want to do with my life" bubble with the "things I'm good at" and just said "fuck it" to the other bubbles. I envy her so much.

Yet if you consider something of this serious, please read-on. Things that I want to do with my life: This is the most important thing, because from it, you will judge all others. Be honest with yourself, about what you want. What experiences do you want to have fulfilled. Don't waste time. Time is the only coin you have. Spend it smartly. Nowadays it's more difficult than in other generations to know WHAT to do with your life. A great part of this problem comes from the media. All the drama and crap you see on TV is make-believe. Real life is not like that. And if it was, you don't want to live in this planet anymore. Yet when you think about it sanely, with a rational mind, life is nothing like shown on TV. Nothing like depicted on magazines or movies. And nothing like shown in Facebook by friends. Those are "highlights", and staged-ones at that. The other part of this problem comes from our society not letting us know when we turned into adults. Sounds funny... and it's easy to make fun of. Yet throughout history, there would be a time when you turned into a man. (pre-post re-read: I assumed you are a guy... if you are a girl... well... umm... kind of applies to you too) When societies that still have this initiation for their young boys into manhood perform their rituals, boys know that it is time. Physically, they're pretty much the same as before (sans some foreskin in some cases). Yet the kids know they're now adults. Their actions will be judged as an adult's actions... not a kid's. I implore you to search inside of you... and search for more information on the internet (like Robert Bly, for starters). Become an adult. Become a man. As a program that's popular says: The boy must die. Stop doing boy-ish things. People seek a leader to follow... and it's best to be a strong, intelligent leader. Study this.

Do understand something: parents will never stop telling you what to do. And when they stop, you will be burying them. So enjoy them for that for now. It's cool. Give them love. Many people don't have both parental units. Many people have parental units that suck sweaty donkey ass. If yours are good, be thankful for that. It's fucking HARD to survive in this world... and it's double-hard to survive AND keep afloat yourself and your siblings. (and the house, the car, insurance, cellphones, internet, taxes, vacation, health, etc etc) Remember parents are people on their own... they have bad days too. Enjoy them.

”自分が得意なこと”の円について。 これが俺がこの長文を書こうと思ったそもそものきっかけだ。 何かが得意ってことは、その何かを楽しめるってことだ。 楽しめたってことは”自分の人生でしたいこと”の円のどっかには入る。 あんたが何が得意であれ、”自分の人生でしたいこと”のフィルターを通すんだ。 記録をつけろ。 過程を残せ。 測れるってことは上達の余地があるってことだ。 時間はかかるかもしれない。 6ヶ月で終わるようなものじゃない。 年単位だ。それもかなりの。 でも絶望するな。かならず2つのことをしろ。 A-自分がなにに感謝できるか（健康、家族、友人、生きてること、ペット、ベッド、etc...） B-自分がいまいる場所を見て、ここからどこに行きたいか思い描いてみろ。 その道程は遠いか？ じゃあ今度は180度後ろをみてみろ。 少なくともここまでの自分の成長が実感できるはずだ。

If you enjoyed it, it must fit somewhere in "things I want to do with my life". Whatever it is you're good at... once again, filter it with the "things I want to do with my life". Get a journal. Write in it your progress. What gets measured gets improved (done). It will take time. This does not take 6 months. It takes years.... long years. Don't despair. If ever you despair, do two things: A- Write down what you are grateful for. (eyesight, health, computer, internet, legs, intelligence, family, friends, food, society, being alive, your pet fish, your bed, ... be grateful) B- Look at were you are standing right now in your progress, and envision where you want to go. It's a long way away? Well, now turn around 180, and look back. Look at all the progress you have made so far.

|||||||| Things that are considered "realistic" occupations This one is funny, because it kind of betrays your age. In reality, you can make a living doing a lot of things. Many of them, not considered, as you say, "realistic occupations". Whatever you decide to do: A- realize you will do it for at LEAST 4 years. No jumping around from Marketing, to Communications, to Engineering, to welder, to Help Desk, to Best Buy clerk, to limo driver, to surfer, to photographer. B- become the very fucking best at it. Kick ass at it. Kick so much ass at it, that when a client tells you: I can't pay you 25,000$ for that project. You can tell that client: I am the best there is. If you want something less, then that's not me. Umm... that's pretty much it. Going to go work on my things. Keep working on yourself for ever man (or girl). Buy books on self-development. Friends that make fun of them can go fuck themselves. Torrent audio-books for personal development. There is a lot of gold out there. Stop wasting time with TV. Stop wasting time with movies. Stop wasting time with people you don't enjoy. These are distractions.
